With version-enabled S3 buckets, each version of an object can have a different retention period.
Option B is incorrect because although creating different buckets and placing an object in that bucket will work, this is not required as the same can be done using the existing S3 bucket. We have to select the option with the least effort.
Option C is incorrect because if we overwrite the object then there is no use of versioning-enabled bucket. It will create more complexity within the bucket to identify the actual content modified in the object. 
Option D is incorrect because modifying the name of the same object will increase additional complexity in the bucket.
