As a Solution Architect, you need to manage the Power Platform environments. The backups of the environment are crucial for data protection and continuity of service availability. Power Platform provides two types of backups: a system and manual. 
Power Platform performs system backup continuously using the Azure SQL Database. The system backups all environment types, except Trial. If you need to restore a system backup, you must restore it in the same region where it was created. If you have a backup of the environment with a database and at least one installed Dynamics 365 app, the backup will be retained for up to 28 days. The system backups for a production environment without Dynamics 365 apps will be retained only for 7 days. The same 7 days are for the Sandbox environments backup retention.
